In MAIN site, the industrial plant is dedicated to the production of air-laid nonwovens (dry paper).
The heart of the production plant is the air-laid industrial line, an advanced technology producing nonwovens with unique characteristics. Air-laid process involves the deposition of cellulose fibers and other raw materials onto a forming belt using a controlled flow of air. The fibers are then bonded together using several methods.
The air-laid line is equipped with multiple forming heads, allowing the creation of multilayer structures with specific characteristics for each layer. The plant features superabsorbent polymer (SAP) dispensers, having positions between the layers to achieve high absorption capacity. The binder is applied in the form of a foam, with the possibility of using foams of different chemical compositions on each layer, ensuring further customization of the final product.
This allows the creation of highly efficient and advanced absorbent structures:
MAIN S.p.A. plant is equipped with a large area dedicated to the storage of raw materials and finished products.
This flexibility allows MAIN to produce a wide range of air-laid nonwovens, with different weights, densities, absorbency, and surface finishes, to meet different sectors needs.
In 2010, MAIN expanded its production facility with the installation of a festooning line. This line allows the nonwoven fabric to be cut and folded into strips, packaged in cardboard boxes, to increase conversion efficiency.
